Overview

The Assistant Manager of Fulfillment Operations will be responsible for the support of Uniform Advantage’s Distribution Center outbound operations organization. The Assistant Manager also works closely with internal and external stakeholders to ensure the appropriate objectives and priorities are aligned within the operation. The Assistant Manager is responsible for the planning and execution of picking, packing, and shipping with oversight from the Senior Manager of Fulfillment. Appropriate execution of the picking, packing, and shipping of orders includes complete, accurate, and timely completion of all shipments brought to the department, the ability to note and address all discrepancies, and communication and partnership with various cross-departmental stakeholders. The leader in this role will also personally drive the expected quality and production goals of their direct reports, on a daily basis. The leader will also mentor and develop junior leaders in the facility.
The Assistant Manager, in partnership with the Senior Manager, is expected to conduct direct supervision of their staff to include the hiring, training and development of the team, conducting frequent feedback sessions with associates and conducting performance evaluations. This role will also require the ability to manage payroll processing and the ability to manage all associates' employee relations concerns with care and respect.

  • Proactively identifies opportunities for process improvement. Assists leadership in understanding process bottlenecks and inconsistencies. Participates in an organization of continuous process improvement.
  • Monitors the accuracy and efficient distribution of reporting and other intelligence essentials to the operation. Recommends revisions to existing reports, or assists in the development of new reporting tools as needed.
  • Maintains a team structure/appropriate staffing levels to accomplish the Fulfillment department's mission in an effective and efficient manner. Working with fellow fulfillment leaders, interviews, selects, trains, develops and engages team members who will deliver quality customer results.
  • Maintains work flow by monitoring steps of the process; setting processing variables; monitoring personnel and resources; studying methods; developing reporting procedures and systems; facilitating corrections to equipment within processes; initiating and fostering a spirit of cooperation within and between departments.
  • In collaboration with the Manager, completes production plan by scheduling and assigning personnel; accomplishing work results; establishing priorities; monitoring progress; revising schedules; resolving problems; reporting results of the processing flow on shift production summaries.
  • Proactively monitors and strives to maintain high levels of customer care, quality, accuracy, and process consistency in the operation. Analyze performance metrics data of team and leverage it to effectively coach and develop the operation. Also manages the onboarding and mentorship of all leaders hired in Fulfillment.
